A campus must accommodate many overlapping journeys: buses arriving, children changing rooms, meals being served and parents collecting students. Each journey has different needs.
Map the peaks
Ask the institution when groups move, how many people move together and which routes they share. A timetable and a transport conversation can reveal design constraints that a room schedule misses.
Make routes legible
Clear destinations, supervised thresholds and well-placed shared facilities help a campus feel understandable. Test proposals with the people responsible for the school day.
Design for change
Timetables and enrolment change. Review how circulation and shared facilities would work under future capacity scenarios, as well as the opening-year brief.
